Origami Yakko San Folding Instructions

A Yakko San is a samurai's man servant, back in the day of course. What I love about this origami is that it is really an extension of the origami lantern. You can make the origami yakko san top and bottom all from the origami lantern!

Origami Yakko San Step 1: Make the origami lantern .

Origami Yakko San Step 2: Now rotate the origami lantern 90 degrees.

Origami Yakko San Step 3: Pry open the paper on the bottom part, fold the flap down and press the paper flat.

And that's it! Your origami yakko san is completed!

Origami Yakko San Step 6: Now pinch those 4 diagonal creases indicated below so that they're mountain folds.

Now make a mountain fold at each end as indicated:

Origami Yakko San Step 7: Bring both halves of the paper together. Fold the paper flat.

That's it! That's your origami yakko san's bottom. Put the top and bottom together and have fun with it!
