Origami Hexagon Base

Here we learn how to create a hexagon from a regular square sheet of origami paper. The origami hexagon base can then be used as a starting point for various origami models. We also use this origami hexagon base as a starting point for some kirigami projects.

Origami Hexagon Base Step 1: Start with a 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper, color side up.

Fold paper in half on the horizontal diagonal axis. Crease well.

Origami Hexagon Base Step 2: Fold point A to B, making a small crease to mark the spot. Crease well then unfold.

Origami Hexagon Base Step 3: Fold point B to point C. Once again, make a small crease to mark the spot.

Fold B-D over to the left so that point E ends up along line F-G.
