Origami Five Pointed Star Step 1: Start with a 6 inch square origami paper. Fold on the diagonal line as shown below.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 2: Now fold over the top flap to meet the vertical center line as shown.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 3: Flip paper over and you should have the following.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 4: Now fold the paper in half along the horizontal axis line as shown by the dotted line below, bringing the bottom tip to meet the top tip.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 5: Next step is to make a squash fold. Gently pry open the top flap then press it down so that the vertical edge lines up on the left side. Follow the photos below.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 6: So the 1st half is done. We now start with a new sheet of 6 inch origami paper.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 7: Fold paper in half along the horizontal axis as shown by the dotted lines below.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 8: Now fold in half again, this time along the vertical axis.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 9: And you're done with the 2nd half. We now just need to put the 2 pieces of origami together. You can use double-sided tape or glue. Put some in the middle of the paper.
I've recently discovered Glue Dots so that's what I'm using. They're easy to use and you can easily remove them without ripping the paper. They're clear or transparent so not noticeable. It's great for paper crafts.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 10: So this is what you have.
Origami Five Pointed Star Step 11: Now open up the 1st half and slide the 2nd half in as shown in the photos below.
Also add some tape, glue or glue dot at the tip to make the star close tightly.
and your origami 5 pointed star is complete!
