Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 1: Begin with an A4 sheet of paper.(In the picture, do not mind the creases, they are from bad handling.)
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 2: Valley fold the paper in half along the north-south axis. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 3: Make creases as shown. Note that middle marked crease is a mountain fold.Completely unfold when done.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 4: Collapse top of paper according to creases made in last step. If you have creased well, it should collapse easily.
Push in from sides of middle mountain fold and flatten, making sort of a double triangle.Collapsing is shown in next 2 photos.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 5: Mountain fold the top behind as per diagram.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 6: Fold the two edges of the upper flap to the center line. Fold top flap only!
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 7: Fold the lower edges of the newly formed triangles up along the marked line.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 8: Fold the free corner of those two triangles down to the edge.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 9: Swing the two(2) flaps you have been working on to their original places. Do not unfold!Try and make them lie flat.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 10: Here comes the difficult part; fold the triangular part back to the left and fold the top of the pointed part down.
This will bring down paper from the top, squash it flat.
The sequence is shown in next 3 photos.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 11: Repeat Step 10 for the other side, completing the undercarriage (or landing gear). It should look something like this:
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 12: You're almost done! Mountain fold the entire thing in half.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 13: Fold only the undercarriage part down on both sides.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 14: Fold the wings down at a slight slight angle to the body.
Origami Airplane with Landing Gear Step 15: Fold the wings up, and you're done!
Throw it gently. If thrown correctly, it should gracefully glide, and maybe take turns, before touching down softly.
Thanks for the instructions, Arko! We folded one too. Here's ours:
