Origami Day Lily Flower Folding Instructions

Origami Day Lily Step 1: Start by making a square base with a square 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) origami paper. You should have the following to start with:

Origami Day Lily Step 2: Now fold both sides toward each other so that both edges touch one another. Crease well and unfold.

Origami Day Lily Step 3: Now fold the right side so that the edges line up. Crease well.

Origami Day Lily Step 4: Now unfold the previous fold, open the paper slightly and make a squash fold.

Origami Day Lily Step 5: Now we need to work on the area marked by the circle in the picture above.

Fold both sides to the center. Crease well on all the edges. This will help you make the next fold.

Unfold both sides, open the paper slightly and flatten the paper.

Origami Day Lily Step 6: Now repeat Steps 3 to 5 on the left side.

Origami Day Lily Step 7: FLIP paper over.

Origami Day Lily Step 8: Now repeat Steps 2 through 6 on this side so that you get the following.

Origami Day Lily Step 9: Now we need to make a mountain fold on the line shown below. So fold the right side in half and the right half should go under.

Origami Day Lily Step 10: Repeat for the left side.

FLIP paper over, repeat and this is what you should have:

Origami Day Lily Step 11: OK, now fold down the paper to create the petal. Do this 4 times.
